The Catholic Faith: A Reader Lawrence Cunningham

In 1987, Paulist Press published THE CATHOLIC FAITH: AN INTRODUCTION by Lawrence Cunningham. That book has been critically acclaimed as a fine presentation of the basic truths of Catholicism. THE CATHOLIC FAITH: A READER is an attempt to provide a fuller discussion of some of the issues which could only be mentioned briefly in the first book. Cunningham has gathered some of the finest articles published on theological topics in recent years. Withing one book the reader will find such prominent authors as Raymond Brown, Monika Hellwig, Karl Fahner, Bernard Cooke, John Coleman, Avery Dulles, Tad Guzie, Elizabeth Johnson, Philip Keane, Roger Mahony, Richard McBrien, Philip Murnion, Timothy O'Connell and Sandra Schneiders. Cunningham writes, "The selections which are offered here should be seen as only a 'second step' beyond the basic text itself.
